More Disney!

So we tried to do everything while we were at Disney! And I mean everything! We spent a little extra and did the Park Hopper Pass, which was very well worth it! We were able to finish Hollywood Studios Saturday morning, then head over to Magic Kingdom for the afternoon/evening. Luckily we were also able to see Cinderella's Castle lit up with all the icicles along with the fireworks display! Here are just a few of the shots from our adventures at Disney!

Camdyn Arrives!!!

While we were in Florida, my new niece Camdyn Elisabeth decided to make her debut!!! Unfortunately we weren't there to meet her on her "birth"day, but we are definitely going to stop on the way back to NC!

Camdyn & her nana!

Kennedy Space Center

While we were in Florida, Thomas & I went to Kennedy Space Center and did a "behind the scenes" tour. The building the shuttle is assembled in is MASSIVE! It is so fascinating to see all the buildings to assemble shuttles, offices, launch pads, and to get a sneak peek at the assembly of parts for the International Space Station! They had a special memorial for astronauts who were lost in the line of duty, including the challenger astronauts. The shuttle simulator featured Columbia's own Charles Bolden!

Launchpad A - all remaining shuttles will be launched from this pad until the shuttle program is phased out.

Launchpad B - Challenger was the first shuttle launched from this pad. Only rockets will be launched from here in the future.

Rocket Assembly Facility - notice the orange at the bottom

Shuttle Assembly Building - where fuel tanks are attached. A little perspective...the Statue of Liberty could fit through one of the side doors when fully opened.

The Happiest Place On Earth!

We made plans for a "New Year's Trip" with our friends James & Lisa...Disney World here we go!

Fins to the left

Fins to the right and you're the only Gamecocks in town!

On January 1 Thomas & I headed to Florida, stopping in Georgia for dinner at Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately MANY Clemson fans decided to stop at the same Cracker Barrel for dinner...and we were stuck in a dining room with them ALL! This would not have been such a shameful experience if USC had performed decently in the bowl game earlier that day! To make things better, though, we spent the night at Hampton Inn right next to Daytona International Speedway, which made Thomas very happy.

January 2 we checked in to our condo at Orange Lake Resort in Orlando, in close proximity to the Disney parks. Our condo had a great screened in porch overlooking the golf course. After meeting up with James & Lisa and getting settled in, we all headed over to Magic Kingdom to buy our tickets and start exploring the parks. Day 1 - Hollywood Studios. What was so incredible - Disney still had all their Christmas decorations up! It was great! Here are pics from the Hollywood Studios and the Osborne Family Festival of Lights!

"I dare you!!!"
